Take This
The seasons change and summer turns into fall,
The leaves turn into the fiery colors of a flame,
Mountains turn colors to warm you heart,
While the winds remind you winter is coming,
The year is almost over, with the nights growing longer and the day grows shorter,
I wish to only sit in front of a fire to converse with my friends,
A longer night to have fun in the company of warmth,
And when we froze in the morning of a cold autumn,
We warmed our hands with hot chocolate that burns our frozen tongues,
Now every bitter morning I say take this, with a laugh and a smile,
A cup of lava and chocolate,
Imagination runs the morning but changes to words we converse,
I wish you could join in the stories around the fire,
You share with me your story and I share mine,
You trust me and I trust you,
But as the years go on, our stories grow longer as time grows between,
So now as winter approaches again I say take this for the last time,
But this cup of lava isn’t filled with chocolate, but something different,
My last story for you, as our paths of future divide again,
But now you decide both our futures,
As you tell me take this.
