Standing Tall
I was carved out of stone,
I wasn’t the master sculptor, no master shall ever carve me,
Like pillars you each added a single mark,
A mark over time that showed your importance,
Each a pillar from which you hold me up,
Each a pillar of stone that changed me, creating who I am,
Once a mear mortal,
My mind set itself in stone, with all of your ideas marked with every cut,
My wings have become my sanctum,
All is peaceful, all is quite with harmony flowing through,
The skies are blue and the waters crystal clear,
I am trapped here with you all by my side,
Where else would I want to be,
Where else could I find you all, with nothing else to worry about,
I could travel the world, with nothing in my mind,
Because my mind is set here to stay,
A place I know I can always come back to,
The river is at my feet in the summer,,
With a warm gentle fire to warm my heart in the dead of winter,
With each of you to sing along,
To scare away the darkness of the night,
To open your hearts, is to set yourself free,
So I open my wings to allow a burst of fresh air to reach me,
My feet are ready to jump,
But my eyes are not ready to leave and stand tall with out you all by my side.
