Set To Gold Stone
As time as moved through me, slowly but steadily I built myself,
I carved my statue, and proved my true talent, and proved my weakness,
But it is now, now that I put the last touch, setting my eyes in gold,
Eyes that now can be open to see the world through my own view,
Each person that has joined me through time has shared with me in one way or another,
Now though I set an eye to face the north and its warm colors of fall,
An eye that faces the south and its rich spicy tastes and hard work,
I set myself in stone for one reason, and one reason only,
Never to be forgotten, and always to be remembered,
My strengths the stone from which I was built,
My weakness the gold, soft but able to move on,
And my nature the balance between the two,
Good nature the gold and unpleasant nature the stone,
My eyes shine when the sun rises, and as it sets,
My eyes open all the time, to make sure I’m understood and always learning,
Come day or come night,
Soft when I want to be, and when I am need to mend,
Hard when I have to be, and always when I am need,
Uniform and equal, I stand as ready as my statue,
Strong, yet soft, ready for the test of time,
My mind alive now and my eyes never yet closed till I ever stand ready to fall,
Set to gold stone I am, and always will be,
Forever, in this time of life.
