Made Of Stone
I can never have you,
I could never hold you,
I could never stop you,
I wish I could be with you,
But like stone, I stand to never change, learning from what other’s do,
My words of wisdom, my words of power,
Always at the base surrounding me,
Those words influence those around me, those that listen,
I can’t help you, and I can’t force you,
Only you can do that,
I’m made of stone and there is nothing I can do,
You yourself must decide, my words only provide you of what I’ve learned,
You ask me questions and ramble on, knowing that I’m listening, and won’t say a word,
And as you talk you figure it out, and you make up your mind, saying that’s what I’ll do,
You walk way as proud and happy as a little kid, who has though they are all grown up,
You tell me your secrets, knowing my mouth in set in solid stone,
You tell what bothers you,
And you tell me what you like, and my answers are in the words I’ve written,
I sit firmly in my chair, solid and long lasting,
Something you would always love to be,
I can take a hit, but you couldn’t,
When danger comes you hide behind my chair, knowing the stone will protect,
And as you hide you formulate a plan,
Made of stone I can’t stop you,
So you decide to build yourself out of stone, hiding you words between our two chairs,
Forever we are made of stone, and made of solid stone we truly are,
Made of stone.
