Invitation
Your smile and eyes invited me in,
Your conversation welcomed me to gone in,
You didn’t say your name at first,
But already I have fallen in love with you as you,
The warm burning fire opens my soul to you,
The night protected my safety and your’s,
But at the time your heart was taken,
The smoke chocked my eyes and thoughts,
My friends wanted to protect my integrity,
But to lose so much makes even tough men cry,
I turn my head against the pouring rain,
I shined my light to show a way, a path,
My words speak with great power and divine,
I cut down the truth and destroy violence,
All eyes are equal and knowledge smothered or guided,
I do not lie or tell the truth,
I leave all knowledge to be interpreted by others,
And if I were to say I love you,
You decide for yourself if you love me,
Ages separate but personalities unite us,
I say I love you with an open hand, held out,
You decide what to say with open or closed eyes.
