Fire Letters
I have written letters of love and passion,
Letters that I have put my heart and soul into,
But when I express my love to a girl they don’t understand,
Their minds filled with other stories of love,
Now my letters pile up like stacks of books,
And my letters turns from love to sorrow,
Tears that seem to bleed through the papers of love,
So now I set my letters of love and pain on fire,
And as I watch these letters burn,
Their pages turn to ash and fly away,
And as the winds carry them away,
I stare and watch my letters of love leave my heart and soul,
And now all my letters are filled with great pain,
Pain that consumes my heart and soul,
Burning them to the black ash, the color of my burnt letters,
Letters that now can’t be read unless you understand,
But as my pain and desperation grow so too do the flames,
Flames that burn all love from me and turn love to dust,
Dust that gathers like pain,
And as I light my last bit of love,
I wish that I could be saved just once from the fire.
