Change To Red
As time right now prevents me,
Prevents me from who I am, and the way I want to live,
When the leash is cut, I’ll live in the woods in that cabin,
Where the shot gun is held above the door,
Where the stars still shine brightly, but only as bright as your eyes,
Not a city boy, but a country boy living through change,
I’ll be a redneck when I leave, I’ll never change my views,
But my attitude will change, ready for that moment,
But I’m going to smart about how I carry on, my blue jeans always by my side,
To sit with you in that beaten down ford, nothing could make me happier,
You resting your head on my shoulder and my head rest on your’s
Happiness doesn’t mean anything without,
You turn the lights of the night on, and your hand passes with the arc of the moon
Darkness would fill my cabin, as water fills my body,
I’d change to be a redneck, if that meant that I’d have a cabin with you to light it up,
To be a redneck, is to be a country boy,
And you be with you would mean that happiness would be as solid as gravity,
I’d use that paper of the woods to write my wisdom,
Since you’ve left that darkness has kept me from my cabin,
Has kept me from the woods, and left me in this town,
A town to close to a city,
And far away from happiness,
You must come before the darkness drowns me,
Before anything else can happen,
To be in an apartment would mean I am confined to certain death,
To be a redneck with you, that would mean the world,
And as always that country music echoing in the woods that we call our own.
With your family behind you and your friends beside you, that is what matters the most,
To catch you if you fall and to share the wisdom from points of views,
From now to the end of time those things will never change
Basic but necessary,
I have found out what matters the most, now have you,
Listen to those around, a new lesson is around the corner,
Something that you have never learned and could be applied later,
What matters the most will make true honest tears fall like a summer monsoon,
Things uncontrollable but are the building blocks of life,
What truly matters the most is the life that you share with others and they share with you.
