Car Crash
It took only one mistake, on second to ruin everything,
My eyes strayed from the objective, the lights of death stared me back,
I tried to stop and get out of the way,
But nothing prevented it, it took me brad side, and over the embankment I went,
The car rolled several times before stopping, glass cut my face and door crushed my arm,
I look to see where you where but you lie there motionless,
Your eyes where closed and your hair when in every direction,
I took the full force of the impact, my arm damaged, I tried my best to protect you,
I’d take my own life to save your’s, I were to die, at least I’d know you’d be safe,
But you lie there not moving, your hand still wearing that diamond ring,
The one I had married you with,
But it only took a second to take you away from me, when I worked so hard to get you,
You achieved more than me,
I took my right hand to cover your cold and still hand,
My tears now burn, as they run down my face,
I took my hand to run it through the hair I used to brush,
And I run my hand slowly across the checks that I had once wiped the tears from,
I hear the faint sounds of help, people hollering is there anyone down there,
I turn on the four ways to signal for help, you still lay there silent,
As they come to help I tell them get her first, get her the hell out of here,
Then come and get me, I feel cold and tired,
My body goes into shock as my heart shuts down,
My eyes close as though time has slowed down,
Only re-opening in the bed next to were you used to be, to my right the bed lay empty,
Your blood staining the sheets you used to lay,
I close my eyes to shed a single tear, only to feel your warm hand coming from my left,
And you tell me that your all alright and so to will I,
The car crash is over, now comes what fallows, but we’ll be fine as long as I have you.
