Accident Darkness
It came from no where, a nightmarish dream,
My life flashed before my darkening eyes,
My life now on the edge, not sure if I’ll make it through,
You heard about the accident, panic is burning in your eyes,
Relief across your face as you see me, and tears of joy fall from your face,
Joy fills my heart and pain fills my eyes,
I have to brake the bad news to you, my time is limited,
You look at me and smile, you tell me what you’ve done,
You’d rallied up the community to ask for their help,
Donations came from the old, the young, the poor and the rich,
All pitched in a little to make a difference,
All to save one person, one life,
I begin to cry, and you tell me it’ll be ok, your alright,
I crack a smile, but then you cry, and I ask what’s wrong,
You tell me that in two weeks that we are going for a walk,
Two weeks roll by and you show up, dressed in all black with your sister and your mom,
You roll me out in my wheelchair to the car,
I asked if my mom knew that I’m with you, and you tell mew yes,
Still with a sad face as you tell me,
We stop on Main Street and you wheel me out to walk down the street,
As the town falls silent and people telling me sorry for your loss,
I look to you to ask what’s going on, so you told me we are taking me home,
Still with that sad look,
We arrive at my house and the police and firemen are standing,
All with their hats removed, that’s when you tell me I lost my family,
They died in an accident involving a terrorist,
Your mom tells me I have a new house on top of Fall Mountain,
Fit for me and others, then a silver truck pulls up,
A man comes out and hands me a key, then says its all your’s,
Then I look at you and you begin to cry, you give me a hug,
From darkness comes light, even when it is dressed in plaid.
